Catherine Wu

Catherine Z. Wu, MD, is a board-certified and licensed minimally invasive gynecological surgeon at GW’s Medical Faculty Associates and an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the George Washington School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Wu also spends part of her time at the DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is a fellowship-trained specialist who brings to GW an expertise in complex benign gynecologic conditions, such as abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and pelvic pain, and offers treatment with minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy, robotic surgery, hysteroscopy and office-based procedures.

Originally from California, Dr. Wu moved to New York where she obtained her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and finished a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. She then pursued and successfully completed a two-year fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the George Washington University Hospital. Upon completion of her fellowship, she decided to stay at GW to continue providing women in the DC area with the best individualized and comprehensive gynecologic surgical care.
