Andrew S. Holmes, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at The George Washington University Hospital, as well as an assistant professor of orthopedics at The George Washington University. His clinical interests include arthritis, arthroscopic surgery, gender knee, joint replacement, knee surgery and sports medicine. He offers expertise in adult reconstruction.

Dr. Holmes earned his medical degree from the Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship and orthopedic residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. While at Anderson Orthopedic Clinic in Alexandria, VA, he obtained fellowship training in adult reconstruction under the tutelage of internationally recognized experts.

Dr. Holmes has published more than 10 peer-reviewed publications. He has repeatedly been invited to present his research findings at national meetings. His research accomplishments have been recognized with numerous awards.

Dr. Holmes’ professional memberships include the Piedmont Orthopedic Society, the Frank Bassett Society, the Washington Orthopedic Society, and the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Society.
