Kimberlee Daniels

Kimberlee Daniels, MBA, FACHE, is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of October 16, 2023. Ms. Daniels comes to GW Hospital from the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMC), where her responsibilities as COO included driving high quality, patient experience, safety, and financial success. Ms. Daniels’ efforts were key in aligning strategic goals with the overall mission of the organization. During her time with UMC, the hospital’s rankings improved. Ms. Daniels also led initiatives to improve capacity, operational efficiency, and clinical productivity.

Prior to working at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Ms. Daniels led the strategic growth of the ambulatory operation for the University of Virginia Medical Center (UVA), in the role of Interim, Chief of Ambulatory Operations. Ms. Daniels is a transformational leader and a strong operator who brings experience in service line development, practice management, and medical center operations.

As GWUH continues to expand, Ms. Daniels’ experience working in 600+ bed level 1 trauma centers, coupled with her outstanding vision, will be instrumental in delivering an integrated system of clinical care throughout the Washington, DC region.
 


Bruno Petinaux

Chief Medical Officer

Bruno Petinaux, MD, was appointed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at the George Washington University Hospital in June 2017. Prior to his official appointment, he served as Interim CMO for a year, during which he led the development and execution of many safety and quality initiatives.

In addition to his role as CMO, Dr. Petinaux is an associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and has been an emergency medicine physician at GW Hospital since 2002. He co-chairs GW Hospital’s Emergency Management Program and is the Emergency Management Track Director for the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Along with his work at GW, Dr. Petinaux supports our community as a medical team manager for the Virginia Task Force 1/USA 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team.

Dr. Petinaux completed his emergency medicine residency at GW Hospital where he finished as chief resident. Along with his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College from the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Dr. Petinaux has a military background with the United States Army Reserve.


Ulises Torres

Chief Quality Officer

Ulises Torres, MD, MEHP, FACS was appointed Chief Quality Officer at The George Washington University Hospital in September 2021. Prior to joining GW Hospital, Dr. Torres served as the Surgical Chief Quality Officer at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center. While there, he held numerous other leadership positions including: Attending Surgeon in the Department of Surgery; Director of Trauma Education and Outreach; Associate Program Director for General Surgery Residency; Chair of Communication for the Physician Engagement Committee; and Engagement Physician Champion for the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Torres has many awards and honors and is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Torres has been involved in several quality improvement projects and has presented his clinical work nationally. He holds a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras, board certifications in general surgery and surgical critical care, as well as a Master of Education in the Health Professionals from Johns Hopkins University.


Maia Healy 

Chief Financial OfficerMaia Healy

Maia Healy, CPA, MBA, is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as of January 15, 2024. She comes from Universal Health Services’ (UHS) Valley Health System in Nevada. Ms. Healy is a multifaceted financial administrator with over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting leadership.

Most recently, Ms. Healy served as CFO at Henderson Hospital, part of the greater UHS Valley Health System, where she was responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and operations. Her efforts across strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and financial modeling and management enhanced productivity and drove financial growth for the organization. Previously, Ms. Healy led budget, accounting, and capital projects at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Health Data Insights, and UHS’ Desert Springs Hospital.

Ms. Healy’s comprehensive financial expertise and demonstrated abilities throughout her career will advance how GW Hospital provides care to our patients and community.
