Chief, Division of Otolaryngology— Head and Neck Surgery
Steven Bielamowicz, MD is Professor and Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at The George Washington University. He specializes in the care of patients with voice, swallowing and airway disorders.
Dr. Bielamowicz, a native Texan, earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and completed two years of residency in General Surgery followed by a residency in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at University of California-Los Angeles. He later completed a two-year fellowship in Laryngology at the National Institutes of Health.
The doctor has served as Program Director of the otolaryngology residency at The George Washington University since 1999. An elected member of several national societies, including The Triological Society and the American Laryngological Association, Dr. Bielamowicz has presented research papers at numerous national and international meetings. His research interests include laryngeal biomechanics, image-guided surgery and the neurological basis of laryngeal disease.
