Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy

Now Offering Telehealth and In-Clinic Rehab Visits

We now provide telehealth services for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology services, in addition to in-clinic visits. Please call 202-715-5655, option 2, to schedule a visit. A therapist will then call you to discuss if telehealth is the right option for you, and will help you with the technology as needed.

A disabling injury or illness can create lifestyle changes and cause frustrating setbacks. No matter if you were injured at work or playing sports or if you are recovering from major injury or illness, the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at the George Washington University Hospital can help.

Our recently expanded and upgraded facility now gives patients more than 17,000 square feet of beautifully designed and naturally lit space. We've added modern technology such as the AlterG® Treadmill and the Bioness® Vector Gait Training System to help you achieve your goals as quick as possible.

Patient Safety During COVID-19

The Outpatient Rehabilitation Center is taking proactive steps to keep our patients and team members safe while serving the needs of our community. We are actively monitoring and responding to all recommendations made by the CDC and the DC Department of Health. Here are the precautions we are taking:

  • Screening all patients via phone before scheduling an evaluation to assess for high risk, COVID exposure, travel history, and symptom history, and to stratify needs.
  • Virtual check-in for the first visit so forms can be filled out online and not in the facility.
  • Individual treatment sessions.
  • Temperature checks and screening questions to all persons entering the building.
  • Encouraging patients to arrive at the time of their follow up appointment to reduce the amount of waiting time in the waiting room.
  • A uni-directional flow of foot traffic in the clinic will be followed.
  • Social distancing in waiting room via chair placement.
  • Social distancing is in effect in treatment areas. Private room usage will be prioritized whenever possible.
  • Plexiglass installed at reception desk.
  • Dedicated, high impact staff member assigned to each floor daily to conduct comprehensive cleaning of equipment and common areas.
  • No visitors are allowed to accompany patients to their clinic visits.

We appreciate your patience during this time as we work to provide the highest quality patient care possible. Thank you, as always, for trusting GW Hospital’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center with your care.
