Street Closure Information

August 4 - 8, 2014

The U.S. State Department is hosting the African Leaders Summit at its headquarters at 23rd St. and Constitution Ave., NW, this week.

While the event will force street closures all week throughout the city, the closures scheduled for Wednesday are expected to have the most impact for travel in the area surrounding GW Hospital. Both 23rd St. and Constitution Ave. will be closed to traffic for some period of time, and is likely to cause significant delays in travel throughout the area. If you have an appointment at the hospital, or are an employee at the hospital, please allow ample time to arrive at the hospital on time.

While the summit is not expected to have an impact on Metrorail, several Metro and commuter bus lines will be rerouted.
