The International Patient Program

The George Washington University Hospital created the International Patient Program to serve the specific medical needs of the international community both locally and abroad. We recognize that Washington D.C. is one of the most diverse areas in the United States. Our goal is to serve the international community and provide overseas patients the highest quality health care services available.

Our Hospital

The George Washington University Hospital has been located in the heart of downtown Washington D.C since 1948. Our 371-bed hospital was completed in August 2002 and is one of the most technologically advanced acute care medical facilities in the region.

Our Medical Staff

The hospital is staffed by more than 500 diverse and responsive local physicians and 250 GWU Medical Faculty Associates. This exceptionally qualified network is supported by a highly trained team of nurses and administrative staff.

Getting Started

To get started, we request that international patients download and complete the New Patient Forms (at right). Please fax these forms along with all available medical information including medical history, films, test results, and health insurance and payor information.
