Spiritual Care Residency Program

The Women's Board serves various charitable interests of The George Washington University Hospital and surrounding community. As we believe in the relationship between spirituality, health and healing, we are offering educational residencies to help serve the needs of patients, family members, caregivers and staff. The selected residents will receive a $6,000 stipend distributed in two equal installments.

The Women's Board is offering two residency programs as described below:

Scholarship Criteria
  • All persons are limited to serving a maximum of two residency programs to support their respective degrees.
  • Completed 4 years of undergraduate education, earning a Bachelor's degree or enrolled in or completed graduate training in theology, chaplaincy, pastoral counseling or spirituality.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 out of 4.0.  Students or school must submit an Official Transcript with the college or university seal.
  • Financial need. There is no minimum or maximum income requirement. However, The Women's Board strives to serve those in need.
  • Completion of two essays.
  • Final selection will be made based upon candidate interviews with the Scholarship Committee. Interviews will be scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in the evening.
