Rehabilitation Services

Rehabilitation ServicesThe George Washington University Hospital’s rehabilitation unit offers individualized, medically advanced treatment and equipment for patients recovering from serious illness, surgery, trauma and other debilitating conditions.  Clinical expertise and respect for patients, as well as the encouragement patients achieve with their own progress, distinguish this program as a leader among its peers.

Helping patients to regain speech after stroke, teaching them to walk independently after a traumatic accident or returning someone to the activities of daily living — every patient accomplishment — whether small or monumental — these are our greatest rewards.

Acute Rehabilitation Unit (Inpatient)

A contemporary, all-private 16-bed unit, Acute Rehabilitation focuses on helping patients develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible while recovering from illness or injury that limits their abilities to function.
