Empowering Women
Empowering Women

The GW Women's Heart Program offers a vital tool for women’s hearts- support. Our physicians and staff empower women by offering real solutions for lowering their risks through exercise, nutrition, smoking cessation and establishing healthy habits.

Educational program are held in the community, at the Women's Heart Program offices, and at the hospital. In addition, our staff members are available for speaking engagements at your business or organization location in the D.C. area.

Nutrition Consultation

Nutrition is a key component of the total health plan in both preventing and treating diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

With busy lives and many demands on their time, women often have little time for meal planning.

A 45-60 minute private consultation with a Registered Dietitian is offered to discuss, assess, and make recommendations tailored to your nutritional goals.

Mended Hearts

Mended Hearts is a national organization dedicated to serving heart patients and their families by giving help and encouragement to those who are confronted with or who have had heart surgery. Membership consists of people who have had heart surgery, their spouses, relatives, medical professionals, and others who are interested in the purpose of Mended Hearts. Friendly visitors make pre-op and post-op visits with patients admitted to the hospital and their families to offer encouragement and support.
