Joel Rosenberg, MD, is the director of clinical cardiology at The George Washington University Hospital and a clinical professor of medicine in cardiology at The George Washington University Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Rosenberg has been a member of Cardiology Associates, P.C., a large cardiovascular practice in Washington D.C. and Maryland, since 1980. A 1973 graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine in Louisiana, Dr. Rosenberg completed his internship and residency in internal medicine in the Georgetown University affiliated program at The District of Columbia General Hospital. He performed his cardiology fellowship in The Georgetown University affiliated program at The Washington V.A. Hospital.

In his work as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Rosenberg focuses on an integrated approach to patient care, respecting the role of prevention and the mind-body connection. He believes that clinical decision-making should rely on evidence-based information of all kinds, including conventional and alternative medicine. This integrated approach to cardiology has led him to create programs that empower patients, enabling them to cope more successfully with their disease and improve their prognosis.

Dr. Rosenberg’s research findings have been published in the Journal of Interventional Cardiology and the American Journal of Cardiology and he has been a featured speaker at many cardiology symposia. Dr. Rosenberg is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention. He is also an active member of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia.
