Are nursing students allowed to apply for positions? If so, what kind?Yes. Nursing students who have completed a med/surg clinical rotation can apply for the position of Multiskilled Technician year round. Nursing students who are entering their final year of nursing school are eligible to apply for nursing externship positions. These are summer positions.

I want to know if the internship program is only for the employees of the facility.Applicants to the program may come from anywhere. Once accepted, the nursing interns are employees of the hospital during the course of their internship.
For the nursing internship program will a student with a “C” grade be admitted into the program?The application process for the nursing internships is competitive. The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and at least a 2.8 in their nursing program. However, we recommend you still complete the online employment application for consideration. If appropriate, you may indicate why you did poorly in a specific class as an explanation.
Are internships open to both LPN nurse and the RN nurse?No, only the RN or Graduate Nurse.
If I successfully complete one of the nursing internships, how long am I obliged to work at GW Hospital?Your commitment would be 24 months full-time employment from your start date.

I am a RN wanting to do some travel. Does your hospital offer short-term contracts for nurses on a per-diem basis?No. We are fortunate to have a regular pool of nurses who work with the hospital on a per diem basis and do not need to hire traveling nurses.
