
Trent Crable, MBA, CPA, CHE was appointed Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director of The George Washington University Hospital on January 12, 2009 after serving as interim CEO since June 2008. With more than 30 years of progressive and diverse experience in for-profit, not-for-profit and academic systems, Mr. Crable provides continuity of service internally and externally.
He joined the GW Hospital administrative team in May 2005 as Chief Operating Officer where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hospital, managing the hospital departments efficiently and effectively to maximize quality of programs and services to the community.
He earned an M.B.A. degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and a B.S. degree in Business Administration at West Chester University in West Chester, PA.
Before joining GW Hospital, Mr. Crable served as an Associate Executive Director of the University of Alabama Birmingham University Hospital, the teaching hospital for the University of Alabama. He oversaw the Center of Psychiatric Medicine, Sleep Center, Pharmacy, Perioperative Services, Anesthesia and Transplant & General Surgical Services. He has also served as Vice President, Professional Services, at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System/Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, and the Chief Executive Officer of HCA Retreat Hospital in Richmond.
