Lisa McDonald, Director of Marketing and Business Development

mcdonaldwebsmallLisa McDonald serves as Director of Marketing and Business Development for The George Washington University Hospital overseeing strategic planning, marketing, advertising, media relations, market research, internal and external publications, community events and health fairs, internet strategy, and physician relations. Under her leadership, the department has received more than 50 awards from advertising and marketing groups for television and radio advertisements, public education campaigns and publications. Lisa joined the hospital as Director of Marketing and Public Relations in 1998.

Previously, Lisa served as Director of Professional Relations and then Director of Marketing for HCA Dominion Hospital where she was responsible for healthcare provider relations, referral development, developing and promoting new service lines, community events, media relations and advertising. She was appointed Executive Director of The Mental Health Association of Northern Virginia, a non-profit social service agency, following four years of progressive responsibility in program management.

Lisa is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Marketing Association, Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and serves as Co-Chair of the D.C Hospital Association's Communications Committee. Born and raised in New York, Lisa holds a Bachelor's Degree from State University of New York at Geneseo.
