Karen Frazier, Director of Human Resources

karewebsmall Karen Frazier, SPHR serves as Director of Human Resources for The George Washington University and guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the hospital. She originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. As Human Resources Director she coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff and assists and advises management about Human Resources issues. Karen joined the hospital as Director of Human Resources in 1997.

Prior to joining the hospital, Karen was Vice President of Human Resources for Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington D.C., Manager of Executive Recruitment for The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland and Regional Vice President of Human Resources for the physical rehabilitation division of the Tenet Healthcare Corporation.

Karen is a member of the Society for Human Resources (SHRM) and maintains certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Society. Additionally she is an active member of the AHA-American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
